There is no dearth of fertilizers in NTR district, says Collector

There is no shortage of urea or other chemical fertilizers in the district and those spreading rumors of shortage will face strict action, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha.

The Collector told the media at the Vijayawada Collectorate on Monday (July 13, 2026) that there is sufficient quantity of chemical fertilizers and farmers need not worry.

Government follows a transparent fertilizer distribution system through AP Agribusiness Information Management System and fertilizers are given to farmers based on online land records. This is to ensure that each farmer receives only the amount they require. Besides, steps are being taken to ensure that not only those who own land but also tenant farmers get the required fertilizers, Mr. Lakshmisha said.

The Collector said that the district currently has 17,425 metric tonnes of urea in stock. Since the launch of the APAIMS app on June 8, around 22,616 farmers have purchased 3,888 metric tonnes of fertilizers through the platform.

The Collector has warned of strict action, including cancellation of dealership licences, against fertilizer dealers if any irregularities in prices, quality or distribution are found. Those who want to file a complaint against such practices can dial the number displayed at each fertilizer retail unit, he said.

Farmers and public can contact 9154970454 for information on farming practices, crop management, fertilizer distribution, technical guidance and other matters related to agriculture. The helpline will provide technical assistance and agricultural advisory services.
