Anupam Mittal is impressed by a college in Bengaluru where students graduate from startups | Viral Post | Today’s news

The Bengaluru-based college expects its students to graduate with their own startups. And that caught Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com and judge of Shark Tank India by surprise. Pleasant.

Bengaluru’s Scaler School of Technology has “building startups built into the curriculum,” Mittal noted during his visit to the tech school.

In the viral Instagram reel, Mittal is seen interacting with students, founders and builders across campus, getting a first-hand look at the kind of artificial-led work coming out of the institution.

He is also seen learning that NeoSapien, an AI startup backed by Shark Tank India Season 4 that makes AI wearables, has its roots in an innovation lab at this college.

During his visit, Mittal also got to know the wider ecosystem of builders on campus, including teams working on humanoids and AI, as well as professionals with backgrounds from organizations like ISRO, NASA, Ola and Stanford.

In a viral video, Mittal spoke to a student who said he had left the country’s prestigious technology institutions like IITs, NITs and IIITs to join the college. To which the Shark Tank judge candidly replied, “Tereko darr nahi laga? Jigra lagta hai.”

Mittal also found that most students secure third-year placements while building startups on campus. Visibly impressed, he said, “I’m sending my team to it, we’ll hire it from you.”

Responding to the students, founders and AI creators around him, Mittal said, “If this is the next generation, I am 100% sure about India’s future.”

“I came back optimistic about this generation”

Captioning the viral video, Mittal said that Indians spend a lot of time wondering if education is keeping up with the world, but forget the more important question: “Are young people exposed to the real problems of engineering enough and exposed early enough?”

He said his visit to the college gave him “a lot to think about” – “There’s a different kind of confidence that comes when students are encouraged to build and tear things down under the guidance of experienced engineers who have been there and done that.”

Shaadi.com suggested everyone visit a Bengaluru college to “see for themselves what this generation of engineers is already building”.

“I came back optimistic about what this generation is capable of. India needs more,” he added.

How did netizens react?

Social media users were also impressed with the Bengaluru college and said that Mittal’s Reel offers another “great” option for engineering students.

“Damn great,” said the user. “After hearing Anupam Mittal’s perspective, Scaler feels it’s worth exploring,” added another.

“If founders like Anupam Mittal are impressed by Scaler students, they must be building something meaningful,” said the user.

The user commented: “I’ll be sending this to my siblings ASAP so they can become the next generation of entrepreneurs.”

“It’s nice to see a Shark Tank judge talk about actual engineering education instead of just placement,” said another user.

Manmeet Singh Akali, who featured in Mittal’s video, commented, “The next time you visit, the robotics lab will try out the Ironman suit 😉 Jokes aside, it was lovely to host you on campus, inspired!”
