Voices grew louder in Kargil on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) challenging Lt. Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena’s decision to carve out five new districts in Ladakh, only two of which have a Muslim majority.
The criticism comes a day ahead of Amit Shah’s two-day visit to the Union Home in Leh, with several leaders in Kargil publicly expressing their reservations about the move.
