Ketan Agarwal case update: Pune police has approached the court seeking permission to conduct polygraph tests on Siya Goyal (20) and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary (22), an official said, according to PTI. Commonly known as a “polygraph test,” the polygraph records physiological responses such as blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, and sweating while the person answers questions related to the investigation.
- On Thursday morning, investigators took Goyal to Lullanagar in Pune, where she and Chaudhary allegedly practiced their plan to push her fiance, realtor Ketan Agarwal, off a cliff at Lohagad Fort, officials said.
“Investigations revealed that Siya and Chetan were rehearsing in a hilly area near a club in Lullanagar to push Ketan off a cliff in Lohagad Fort. Today, Siya was taken to the spot where she identified the place where they allegedly conducted the test,” a Pune rural police official said.
2. The official said that investigators have collected a significant amount of technical and digital evidence that is currently being analyzed and cross-checked as part of the ongoing investigation.
3. Police also alleged that Goyal had previously sabotaged the couple’s planned pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia.
4. According to the police, Ketan Agarwal’s father, Vishal Agarwal, said in his complaint that his son repeatedly expressed concern over Goyal’s closeness to Chaudhary and said that she often brought up Chaudhary during their conversations.
5. The father of the accused Goyal, Praveen Goyal, said that the police did not question him when they visited his residence on Friday. He said officers remained at the home for about 30 to 45 minutes before leaving.
“The police came to the house today, but I didn’t meet anyone. They did their job and were there for about 30-45 minutes. The doctor advised me to rest. My health is broken. I don’t want to talk about this case. I don’t have the strength. The police didn’t ask me anything,” he mentioned.
On Wednesday, the Pune Rural Police reconstructed the crime scene with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary, who was allegedly involved in the conspiracy to murder Ketan Agarwal. A similar exercise was conducted with Siya Goyal on Sunday, during which investigators pushed a dummy off a cliff in her presence to replicate the incident.
Siya and Chetan are accused of murdering 25-year-old realtor Ketan by allegedly throwing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18. Agarwal and Goyal were supposed to get married in November this year.
Following the incident, Goyal and Chaudhary were arrested and remanded in police custody till 3 July. According to the official, investigators believe the pair rehearsed the alleged crime in May and are now working to determine the exact date and other details regarding the rehearsal.
