Ketan Agarwal murder case: Lawyer Siya Goyal denies reports of secret marriage with Chetan Chaudhary | Today’s news

Investigating the murder of a real estate agent based in Pune Ketan Agarwal took another turn, Siya Goyal’s lawyer denied reports that she had secretly married co-accused Chetan Chaudhary months before Agarwal’s death.

Advocate Vipul Dushing, who is representing Siya Goyal, issued a statement on Tuesday rejecting media reports about the alleged marriage, saying there was “no substance” to the claims.

The statement comes a day after reports citing sources claimed that investigators are probing the alleged secret marriage between Goyal and Chaudhary, a development that has given a new dimension to the high-profile murder probe.

The lawyer denies the reports of the alleged marriage

In a statement, advocate Vipul Dushing categorically denied reports that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary solemnized their marriage while hiding it from their families, News18 reported.

“The reports regarding the marriage of Siya and Chetan have been published in many newspapers and articles. There is no substance to this whole matter,” the lawyer said.

His statement is the first response from Goyal’s legal team after reports surfaced that the two accused had allegedly married nearly four months before Ketan Agarwal’s murder.

Reports quoted sources as saying that the alleged marriage took place despite Goyal’s engagement to Agarwal in February this year and that the couple kept the wedding a secret while wedding preparations with Agarwal’s family continued.

However, Goyal’s lawyer denied these claims in full.

Marriage certificate, witnesses under the scanner

Sources further claimed that two of Siya Goyal’s college friends allegedly signed as witnesses to the marriage.

Investigators are reportedly trying to identify and verify the role of alleged witnesses in the ongoing investigation.

Police technical teams are also trying to recover deleted photos from a private Instagram account that allegedly showed Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary wearing wedding garlands.

According to sources, investigators believe that if these images are recovered, they could help corroborate claims that the two secretly married months before Ketan Agarwal’s death.

About a murder case

Siya Goyal (20) and Chetan Chaudhary (22) were arrested in connection with the death of 25-year-old real estate agent Ketan Agarwal from Pune.

According to police, Agarwal died after he was allegedly pushed off a cliff at the historic Lohagad fort in Pune district on June 18.

Investigators alleged that Goyal and Chaudhary conspired to kill Agarwal. The police had also earlier claimed that the alleged first attempt to kill him was made on June 14 but failed.

At the time of the incident, Agarwal and Goyal were engaged and scheduled to get married this November.

The case has drawn widespread attention, and investigators continue to review digital evidence and other material as part of the ongoing investigation.

The investigation continues

Lawyer Siya Goyal’s latest statement adds a new layer to the investigation, which came shortly after reports suggested that the police were investigating an alleged clandestine marriage between the two accused.

While the defense dismissed the reports as unfounded, the investigation into Ketan Agarwal’s death is still ongoing.

The Pune police have not yet issued any official statement responding to the lawyer’s remarks or clarifying the reports regarding the alleged marriage. The case remains under investigation and authorities are reviewing available evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding Agarwal’s death.
