Muslim brothers celebrated Id-ul-Fitr with traditional gaiety and fervor on Saturday, marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan.
Special prayers were held at the Eidgah Maidan and mosques across the city. Thousands of Muslims gathered at the Eidgah Maidan, attended mass prayers and exchanged greetings. Children added color to the celebrations, dressed in bright holiday dresses. Prayers were also held at the Eidgah Maidan in Ghousianagar.
Mass prayers at Tilaknagar were led by Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohammad Usman Shariff.
The Mysuru City Police has deployed elaborate security arrangements at the Eidgah Maidan and near the mosques to ensure peaceful celebrations.
Tanveer Sait, MLA, attended prayers at a mosque on Ashoka Road.
