SarvePalli Mla Somereddy Chandramohan Reddy expressed concern that the Karnataka cabinet went through a few days ago to increase the almatti dam from 519 feet to 524 feet to draw 130 TMCft Krishna River Water.
The government Andhra Pradesh should ask to ensure that the state has gained its legitimate share of water according to the standards set by the Krishn Water Dissuts court, Chandramohan Reddy said on Friday’s brief discussion.
Mr. Chandramohan Reddy said that Karnataka’s cabinet planned to spend around 70,000 GBP Crore for increasing the height of the dam and land acquisition.
In addition, the Thelangany government has prepared DPRS for a total of 16 projects on the Krishna River to take advantage of 150 TMCFT, he said. Projects considered by the Karnataka and Telangana governments would damage Andhra Pradesh’s interests in the next three years, fearing. The AP government should be vigilant and take the necessary steps to protect its right to draw the allocated water of the Krishna River, he added.
Vice -President K. Raghu Ramakrishn Raju said that this problem was a serious concern, because the projects could prepare the share of AP in the waters of Krishna, unless the government does quickly.
