Ketan Agarwal’s father has rejected claims that a stain on his son’s hair could have been the cause of his alleged murder, saying Ketan’s fiancee Siya Goyal and her family were informed about it long before the couple got engaged.
The remarks come as investigators continue to probe the motive behind the killing of a 26-year-old businessman from Pune, who police say was pushed into a 300-foot ravine in Lohagad Fort by his fiancee and her alleged boyfriend.
The father rejects the hair patch as the trigger for the murder
Speaking to reporters, Ketan’s father Vishal Agarwal admitted that his son wore a “small wig” but denied allegations that this information was withheld from Siya’s family.
“It is true that Ketan wore a small wig. Siya and her family were informed of this before the engagement. If she had any problems, she should have said no. What was the need to kill my son?” he said.

The issue of Ketan’s hair patch has emerged as one of several theories surrounding a possible motive for the alleged murder. However, police insist that the wig alone cannot explain the circumstances leading to the crime.
Vishal Agarwal also disputed Siya’s family’s claim that Ketan insisted on going to Lohagad Fort.
“According to my information, it was Siya who wanted to go on the trek,” he said.
Police say the motive is still under investigation
According to police, Ketan Agarwal was allegedly lured to Lohagad Fort on June 18 by Siya Goyal. Investigators say Siya and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary pushed him into a 300ft ravine before trying to paint the incident as an accidental fall as he posed for photographs.

Police said their preliminary investigation indicated that the killing was premeditated and that there had allegedly been several earlier attempts to eliminate Ketan before the fatal incident.
Investigators also claimed that after the trio reached the edge of the cliff, Siya allegedly gave a prearranged signal to Chetan, who then pushed Ketan into the ravine.
Siya’s family claims that she wanted to marry Ketan
Meanwhile, Siya Goyal’s parents have denied that their daughter is unhappy in the marriage.
In an interview with India Today, her mother said that the family repeatedly asked Siya if she wanted to marry Ketan before sealing the alliance.
“Before we fixed Siya’s marriage, we asked her repeatedly, at least ten times. We told her, ‘Siya, we are planning your wedding. Do you like Ketan? Do you want to continue this marriage?’ Every time she told us, ‘Yes, I like Ketan,'” her mother said.
According to her, Siya never indicated that she did not want to marry Ketana or have another relationship.
The family also disputed the police version of events regarding the trek.

“Siya told me, ‘Mom, Ketan is asking me to come trekking, but I don’t want to go. Please ask him not to insist.’ But Ketan’s mother told her, ‘If Ketan asks you to come, then go. He might have planned a birthday surprise for you,” Siya’s mother Pooja Goyal told India Today TV.
Siya’s father Praveen Goyal also dismissed reports suggesting that there were warning signs before the engagement. Referring to claims that Ketan raised concerns about Siya’s phone being busy, he said these concerns were never shared with their family.
Fadnavis ensures speedy trial, special prosecutor
As the investigation continues, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Ketan Agarwal’s father in Pune on Friday.
According to the family, the chief minister accepted their demands for a speedy trial and agreed to appoint senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam as the special public prosecutor in the case.
Mr. Nikam has previously handled several high-profile terrorism and murder cases, including the prosecution of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
The investigation into the alleged murder is on and the police are probing several aspects of the case and trying to ascertain the motive behind Ketan Agarwal’s death.
