Free health camp for journalists in Yadgir tomorrow

Ashirwad Hospital will organize a free health camp for journalists who are members of the Karnataka Union of Working Journalists in Yadgir on Sunday to mark Doctors’ Day, the union’s district unit president Mallappa Sankin said.

In a report here, Mr. Sankin said that a free health camp for journalists would be held at Ashirwad Hospital, which would be headed by Chief Medical Officer CM Patil.

“Dr. Patil is volunteering to organize a free health camp for journalists considering their selfless service and contribution to building a healthy nation,” said Mr. Sankin, adding that Chief Eye Surgeon and Head of Drushti H. Bheemareddy Patil Eye Hospital will also accompany Dr. Patil by providing an eye test for the journalists.

Heart tests, blood pressure, diabetes and other tests will be performed, so journalists should arrive at the hospital by 8:00 a.m. on the scheduled day on an empty stomach to take advantage of these medical tests, Mr. Sankin said.

Mr Sankin also said free eye surgery would be carried out at another date if needed. Journalists must bring an identity card issued by the union for the current year to the medical examination.

There will be an interaction with the doctors after the medical camp is over.
