Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 23rd installment of PM-KISAN on Saturday (June 20, 2026) from Tarakeswar in West Bengal. More than 9.44 lakh eligible farmers will receive ₹2,000 and ₹18,880 crore will be transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries. “More than 2.18 lakh women farmers will get the benefit,” the Union Agriculture Ministry said in a release. “A total of over ₹4.46 crore has been disbursed since its inception on 24 February 2019,” the ministry added.
In a separate statement, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said over 45.35 million farmers in West Bengal would get ₹907 crore. “The total amount distributed under the PM-KISAN scheme in the state will exceed ₹15,055 crore,” Mr. Chouhan said.
The Prime Minister will also launch the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)/Restructured Weather Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS). “During 2026-27, the target is to provide crop insurance to 1.10 lakh farmers on 30 lakh hectares of agricultural land. Crops worth ₹ 28,140 crore will get insurance cover,” Mr Chouhan said. The Union and State Governments will provide premium subsidies of around ₹777 crore.
