Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse incentives worth ₹ 2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) in New Delhi on Friday (June 19, 2026).
Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told reporters in New Delhi on Thursday (June 18, 2026) that 15 million beneficiaries will receive the incentive as direct benefit transfer (DBT).
Mr. Mandaviya added that Mr. Modi will interact with several startup employees and employers who are using PM-VBRY. The total cost of the program is ₹99,446 crore, which aims to create 3.5 million jobs within two years. The minister said first-time employees will get benefits worth ₹15,000 and employers will get up to ₹3,000 per month per new employee.
He added that the program is designed to increase employment in the manufacturing sector and provides extended benefits for up to four years. “As of August 2025, more than 63 million first-time workers have been recruited into the formal workforce under PM-VBRY, of which nearly 30% are women. More than 80% of businesses incentivized under Part B are small businesses with less than 25 employees. This highlights the role of PM-VBRY in supporting small and emerging businesses, which are the backbone of the Indian economy,” he said.
Mr. Mandaviya added that various Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers will participate in the program from virtually 200 industrial clusters in their respective states on Friday. “Regional programs will be organized simultaneously in these industrial clusters and will be attended by Governors, Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, Ministers of State for Labour, Members of Parliament, Members of Legislatures, Mayors and other dignitaries,” he added.
