Bengaluru Police has issued a traffic alert for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) which will be held today from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm at Krishna Vihara gate number 01 in the palace grounds. 80,000 people and 2,305 vehicles are expected to attend the event.
Bengaluru Traffic Police said the event, organized under the jurisdiction of Sadashivanagar Traffic Police Station, will be attended by the Chief Minister, Union and State Ministers, other dignitaries as well as students of schools and colleges.
Which roads may witness heavy traffic in Bengaluru?
Key roads expected to see heavy traffic include Krishna Vihara Gate near Palace Grounds, Ballari Road, CV Raman Road and Jayamahal Road.
Traffic diversions in Bengaluru
Those traveling to Kempegowda International Airport are advised to avoid Ballari Road and instead take the route via Old High Grounds Junction, Kalpana Junction, Old Udaya TV Junction, Cantonment Railway Station, Tannery Road and Nagawara before reaching the airport as mentioned.
Two routes are proposed for traveling from the airport to the city center: route 1 is via Hebbal, turn left at Nagawara Junction, Bamboo Bazaar, Queens Road and into the city, while route 2 is via Hebbal, Kuvempu Circle, Gorgunte Palya Junction, left at Dr Rajkumar Road, to the airport, and then passengers can take the city to the airport and then to the city. Mathikere Road, turn right at BEL Circle and proceed via Ring Road. To reach the city from Yeshwanthpur, Dr Rajkumar Road provides a direct route to central Bengaluru.
Heavy vehicle restrictions will apply in several places. At Hebbal Junction, heavy vehicles will not be allowed on Ballari Road and have to use the outer ring road instead. At Old High Grounds Police Station Junction, vehicles coming from High Grounds will be diverted via Kalpana Junction, Old Udaya TV Junction, Cantonment Railway Station, Tannery Road and Nagawara. In Yeshwanthpur, heavy vehicles going towards CV Raman Road are prohibited.
Besides, no parking zones along Palace Road, Nandidurga Road, Ballari Road, CV Raman Road, Jayamahal Road and Guttahalli Road will be enforced today.
