Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Vice-Chancellor Vidya Shankar said on Tuesday that the university will extend all technical assistance if there is more collaboration between Ayurveda and technology.
He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Techno Ayurveda-2025’ conference organized as part of the 10th National Ayurveda Day in the city on Tuesday through virtual mode.
Mr. Shankar said he foresaw a revolution in healthcare if Ayurveda and technology worked together and said it would boost the country’s all-round development.
The conference was jointly organized by the Government Ayurveda Research Centre, Mysuru and the Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering.
Describing Techno Ayurveda as a Pathway to Human Health, Mr. Shankar elaborated on Ayurveda and technology, noting that the 5000-year-old Ayurveda remains a relevant medical science even today. The reason for Ayurveda’s permanence is its inseparable relationship with nature, he added.
Chidananda Gowda, former vice-chancellor of Kuvempu University launched the Kannada edition of Ayush 4 You and praised that articles published in Kannada will go a long way in strengthening the spirit and use of Kannada in the society.
He highlighted the positive aspect of field research and its transformation into socially relevant outputs.
Organizers said more than 150 students from 10 technical colleges from across Karnataka participated in the workshop. There was also an extensive discussion on the machines, equipment, robots and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies required for Ayurvedic medical science, which the organizers said was very significant.

Vishwanath, Secretary; Sadashive Gowda, Principal, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, and Lakshmi Narayana Shenoy, Deputy Director, Government Ayurvedic Research Centre, Mysuru.
