Indian badminton great Saina Nehwal and Danish legend Peter Gade will headline the upcoming Legends’ Vision – Legacy Tour India, which returns to the country after eight years. The two-day event will be held on 23-24 November at the Siri Fort Sports Complex in New Delhi, where some of the sport’s most renowned figures will come together in an effort to develop badminton at the community level.
The Legacy Tour is built around a simple idea: connect legends with young players and local fans and use that dynamic to make the sport more accessible. This year, Saina joins the Legends’ Vision global line-up alongside the likes of Carolina Marn and becomes one of the latest faces to drive the initiative forward.
One of the highlights of the tour is A Racquet’s Second Life, a worldwide effort that encourages fans to donate used racquets. These are given to community groups and young players who might otherwise struggle to get equipment – turning leftover equipment into someone else’s first step into badminton.
On the opening day, Saina, Gade and other ambassadors will take to the courts and junior exhibitions, offering kids a rare chance to learn from some of the biggest names in the game. The day will also mark the official launch of A Racquet’s Second Life in India.
Reflecting on the initiative, Saina said she is excited to bring the program back home and hopes to spark new beginnings for young players. She emphasized that even a single donated racket can help a child discover the joy of playing.
Echoing this sentiment, Gade called it meaningful to work with Saina in India and emphasized the project’s focus on giving back. For him, the meetings with the young players and the encouraging racket donations capture what Legends’ Vision aims for worldwide.
On November 24, the focus will shift across Delhi NCR where fans will be able to meet Saina and Gad at select Yonex Sunrise stores, participate in donation drives and contribute to A Racquet’s Second Life.
Yonex says the broader goal is simple – to grow the game by making it accessible and ensuring every young player has a chance to start. In Delhi, it can be as simple as bringing a racket and passing it on.
Originally founded by Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Peter Gade and Taufik Hidayat, The Legends’ Vision has since grown to include Saina Nehwal, Lee Yong Dae and Carolina Marn. Their shared mission remains the same: to inspire new players, support communities and help badminton reach more people around the world.
