US President Donald Trump celebrated his 80th birthday on Sunday, June 14 with a brutal display of political machismo, turning the White House lawn into an arena for a bloody evening of cage fighting.
In unprecedented scenes at the revered seat of American democracy, Trump sat with thousands of cheering fans as Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters beat each other to the punch.
But when the fighters clashed for the night’s top-billed bout, a video of President Trump reportedly falling asleep in the middle of the event in a cageside seat next to UFC boss Dana White made the rounds on social media.
In the viral clip, Trump appeared sleepy with his eyes closed and leaned slightly toward White. “Trump fell asleep at UFC Freedom 250 on the White House lawn, his 80th birthday party,” the caption of the viral post read.

Social media users mocked Donald Trump for sleeping at “his own party” and reminded him of his predecessor in the White House, Joe Biden.
“He is such a brave soul, he spends all his time and energy for his country. You should know what a great person he is, he is an amazing leader… yes, those are the words you can whisper to wake up this sleepy old man,” the user said sarcastically.
“It’s like being the guest of honor at your own party and deciding the most interesting thing is to take a nap,” said another user.

UFC Freedom 250
The “UFC Freedom 250” event, which was supposed to kick off this year’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of US independence, took place at the White House just hours after Trump sealed the long-awaited peace deal with Iran.
American fighter Justin Gaethje stunned Spanish-Georgian Ilia Topuria to claim the lightweight championship in the main event. Gaethje was declared the winner after Topuria’s face was beaten so badly that he could not continue.
Afterward, Trump and First Lady Melania entered the blood-stained “Octagon” cage to congratulate a jubilant Gaethje, who wished the president a happy birthday.
“Beyond anything you can imagine,” Trump told reporters.
At the event, campaigner Josh Hokit launched a stunning attack on the former first lady, shouting into a microphone in front of Trump: “Michelle Obama is a man, am I right America?”
A number of UFC fighters paid Roman gladiator-style tributes to the president after the victory, with two of them hailing him for having the “balls” to stage the fight.

“Last night’s UFC at the White House was incredible… The White House has never looked more beautiful. The atmosphere was unbeatable!” Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Monday morning to praise the fighters and congratulate the UFC boss.
“The weather was supposed to be horrible and it turned out to be PERFECT! So much for the weather forecast.”
