Delhi Weather Forecast: Expect Rain, Light Thunderstorms and Lightning: Check IMD Forecast for June 15 | Today’s news
It started raining in Delhi. The regional weather forecast center in New Delhi confirmed the weather development.
“Much rainfall accompanied by light thundershowers and lightning (40-70 kmph gusty winds) is very likely at several places of Delhi (Jafarpur, Nazafgarh, Dwarka, Palam, IGI Airport, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, Ayanagar), NCR (Bahadurgarh, Guruhi),” RWFC New Media posted.
It also predicted rain in Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh, Gohana, Gannaur, Sonipat (Haryana) in next 2 hours. Last night, it predicted gusty winds (40-60 kmph) as “very likely to prevail” over entire Delhi and NCR.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted strong surface winds and very light to light rainfall during the afternoon. A thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) is also likely, the IMD predicted. Similar conditions are likely to continue in the evening.
Delhi Weather Sunday
Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 38.5 °C on 14 June. This was 1.4 degrees below the seasonal average, according to the IMD.
The IMD has predicted very light to light rainfall on Monday. Thunderstorms and gusty winds were also expected Monday afternoon and evening. Monday’s maximum and minimum temperatures should settle around 39°C and 26°C, respectively.
At key weather stations, maximum temperatures on Sunday ranged from 38.4°C to 39.1°C. The Ridge was the hottest area at 39.1C, sitting 1.2 degrees above normal. Lodi Road recorded 38.7°C and Palam recorded 38.6°C. Ayanagar was the coldest at 38.4 degrees Celsius, sitting 3.1 degrees below normal.
Minimum temperatures ranged between 23.4°C and 26.2°C across the capital. Safdarjung recorded the highest minimum at 26.2 °C. The Ridge was the coldest at 23.4C, sitting 3.2 degrees below normal. The relative humidity was at 61% at 8:30 am. The air quality index was 151 and fell into the medium category.

Thunderstorms and strong winds will be prominent in Delhi on June 15. Temperatures will hover around 39°C with 65% humidity. Strong surface winds and very light to light precipitation are expected during the afternoon.
The conditions are significantly relaxed from June 16. Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy with possible thunderstorms and lightning. Temperatures rise to 40°C with 70% humidity.
From June 17th to June 20th, conditions remain consistently settled. Partly cloudy weather is expected for all four days. Temperatures gradually rise from 41 °C to 43 °C during this period.
The humidity remains stable between 60% and 45% throughout. The week ends on a hot and dry note.
