The sweltering heat wave that has gripped Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and other north and central states for the past few days is expected to subside from Saturday, May 30, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
“The prevailing heat wave has eased from most parts of northwest India and is likely to subside from most parts of central India,” the IMD said in its bulletin.
It also predicts a gradual fall in maximum temperatures of 5-7°C over northwest India by May 30. From May 31 to June 4, a gradual increase in temperatures by 5-7°C is expected.
The Met Office has predicted widespread storm activity and heavy rainfall in the region until Sunday 31.

Temperatures in Delhi are expected to remain in the range of 34°C to 36°C on Saturday and Sunday, with partly cloudy skies and light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in the city.
