The modern Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation slaughterhouse is ready to open after long delayed infrastructure work. The Minister of Local Locations of the MB Rajesh will start a slaughterhouse in office, which will be held on 30 August, with the chairman of the Mayor of Arya Rajendran.
According to corporation officials, the plant, once functional, will become the largest such government act in the state. After ensuring all food safety standards, the race will work and through all modern technology to prevent human contact with meat. There will also be a laboratory in which veterinarians perform quality checks before and after defeat. The meat after the defeat will be handed over to the buyer after the certification.
The plant, built at the price of 15 crore, can handle 75 larger animals and 50 small animals a day. It will also have a capacity to hold 75 livestock. Solid waste will be treated on site using a biogas plant. Rendering devices will be used to process inconsistent soft tissues and bones. The by -product from the wastewater treatment plant will be supplied to the industries connected to the production of animal feed. The remaining fine solids and washing of water from the slaughterhouse will go to the wastewater treatment plant. The plant is equipped with an automatic slaughter system on the movement of animals and a cold storage device.
The company will stop all illegal defeat in the area of corporation from the date of the opening of a modern slaughter house. No meat without a seal of corporation will be able to sell in stalls with masses in the city. The civic body registers all meat owners/butchers in corporation and provides approval for bringing animals to the slaughterhouse for their own defeat.
Electric and Allied Engineering Company Limited (Kel) is an implementation agency for a project. The project for the establishment of a modern slaughterhouse in Kunnukuzha has now become a long -term story of stretching for eleven years, during which many proposals were canceled before the implementation began. In February 2013, Slaughterhouse Kunnukuzha was closed because he could not manage the waste generated in a scientific way if there is no centralized waste treatment plant.
