Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Prime Minister Modi’s contribution to the nation would be “written in gold” in history.

Speaking to ANI, Rijiju praised the Prime Minister’s leadership for steering the country towards the vision of ‘viksit bharat’.

“It is a moment of pride for our country that 12 years have passed under the leadership of the Prime Minister and he has become the longest serving elected Prime Minister, which is a historic achievement. The Prime Minister will complete 4,399 days in office. Union Minister of the Czech Republic Patil praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the longest serving Prime Minister of India in a continuous term, describing the Prime Minister’s tenure as “bemisaal” (unparalleled).

Emphasizing the impact of the Prime Minister’s leadership over the past twelve years, Patil described the period as one of transformative governance that reached every corner of the nation.

Regarding the government’s approach, Patil emphasized that the success of the administration lies in its planning and effective execution.

“If we were to sum up what the entire nation is saying today in one word, it would be that PM Modi’s twelve years have been ‘unprecedented’ (bemisaal). Be it across sectors, for every individual, in every region or in every state, he has formulated and implemented schemes to meet everyone’s needs and ensure that the benefits really reach the people accurately,” Patil said.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also welcomed the Prime Minister’s leadership and highlighted the transformational changes witnessed in the last 12 years.

“On this day, Prime Minister Modi established himself as the longest serving democratically elected Prime Minister of India… India’s domestic production rate has averaged 7% in the last 12 years, under which an unprecedented transformation has also taken place. This 12-year tenure will take India’s direction, India’s position and its new position on the global stage,” he said on the global stage.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also highlighted what it described as a “remarkable transformation” in India’s foreign policy under the Prime Minister, saying the country’s global standing and international influence had expanded significantly during the period.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday hailed his leadership and described his tenure as an “era of karma yogi” who worked tirelessly for the nation’s progress and global standing.

He hailed Prime Minister Modi for achieving the historic feat and appreciated his long years of public service.

“Today is a historic day. Today marks 12 years of Modi serving as Prime Minister. He became the longest serving Prime Minister after independence. This 12-year period is an era of Karma Yogi, an ascetic who worked tirelessly without pausing to take Mother India to the top,” Dhami said. Highlighting the Prime Minister’s governance and development initiatives, he further said that India’s global standing and prestige has improved significantly under his leadership in the last 12 years,” he said.

The Secretary General of Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India Saurabh Sanyal also congratulated the Prime Minister on the occasion and said, “On behalf of ASSOCHEM, I congratulate Prime Minister Modi for completing 12 years of exemplary service to the people”, stressing that he has fostered a robust business ecosystem.

The Associated of Commerce and Industry of India Chief Economist SP Sharma further congratulated and highlighted the economic achievements made after 2014.

“In 2014 we were only a $2 trillion economy. Now we have an economy of more than $4 trillion and we have improved significantly from the 10th largest economy. We are now the fourth largest economy and will soon become the third largest in the next 2 to 3 years… Yesterday the government announced that the Bhavya program and 202 other industrial hubs have become world’s lucrative hubs… graphs for global investors,” he said.

The remarks come as the Prime Minister approaches a record-breaking milestone in India’s democratic history, marking more than a decade of uninterrupted leadership at the Centre.

As Prime Minister Modi approaches the milestone of becoming India’s longest serving continuously elected Prime Minister, he has received warm congratulations from world leaders.

World leaders from around the world paid tribute to the Prime Minister’s transformative governance, his advocacy of the Global South and his vision of an inclusive and economically dynamic India.

In a June 8 letter to the Prime Minister, Anura Kumara Disanayaka, President of Sri Lanka, extended his warmest congratulations to the government and people of Sri Lanka, saying, “This milestone is a testament not only to your years in office, but also to the confidence that the people of the world’s largest democracy have repeatedly reposed in your leadership.”

The President also highlighted India’s remarkable economic and social transformation, noting that Prime Minister Modi’s vision has inspired many people beyond India’s borders, including Sri Lanka.

Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, congratulated Prime Minister Modi on the occasion, noting that “under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has evolved as a leading voice in global affairs.”

It highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s journey from humble beginnings to leading a nation of 1.4 billion people in three terms and highlighted India’s significant achievements in foreign policy, economic growth, infrastructure and socio-economic development. Prime Minister Modi made a high-profile visit to Trinidad and Tobago on 3-4 July 2025, the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 26 years, coinciding with the 180th anniversary of the arrival of Indian immigrants to Trinidad and Tobago.

Palestinian Ambassador to India Abdullah M Abu Shawesh congratulated the Prime Minister on completing 12 years while emphasizing that PM Modi helped propel India onto the global stage.

“Regarding the twelve years that His Excellency has been the longest continuously serving Prime Minister of India, first of all I would of course like to congratulate him and of course the people of India for having this great man as the Prime Minister of India. I am quite sure that during the last twelve years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken very significant steps that have put India on the economic, political and global stage today.”

The historic milestone also received praise from several big names in Bollywood.

Actor Anupam Kher congratulated PM Modi and called the event a milestone for Indian democracy.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is entering a new chapter in the history of democracy in India. As the Prime Minister who has served the country for the longest time, it is not only a man’s ability to be appointed Prime Minister, but it is also a testament to the strength of Indian democracy and the trust of the people. It is not easy to maintain people’s support and trust in any democracy for a long time,” Kher said for such a democracy.

Actor Paresh Rawal also congratulated on the occasion. Speaking to ANI, Rawal said, “It’s our country’s luck that we have him as Prime Minister. It’s God’s will. I believe it’s God’s special blessing for our country. For our citizens.”

Expressing confidence in Modi’s leadership, Rawal added, “There will be progress under his leadership. He is a man of progressive mind. There will be progress in the coming days as well.”

While Jawaharlal Nehru remains India’s longest-serving Prime Minister in terms of total tenure, having served for around 16 years and 286 days between 1947 and 1964, PM Modi is set to set a new record for the longest continuous tenure by an elected Prime Minister.

Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Narendra Modi remain the top three longest-serving prime ministers by total tenure, with the prime minister now entering a new chapter in Indian political history with his third consecutive term in office.
