YUVRAJ MEETS GAMBHIR
Yuvraj also met head coach Gautam Gambhir and the duo shared a light moment after the reunion. Gambhir and Yuvraj have been part of some of India’s most memorable victories during their playing careers. Both played a key role in India’s winning run in the inaugural Men’s Under-20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa.
They were also instrumental in India’s triumph in the 2011 Men’s ODI World Cup under MS Dhoni, where India defeated Sri Lanka in the final. Yuvraj was named player of the tournament while Gambhir contributed a decisive 97 in the final before Thisara Perera was dismissed.
India made a great start to the T20I series by winning the opening match at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium by 101 runs. Hardik Pandya hit a blistering half-century before the Men in Blue bowled out South Africa for 74. India now have nine more T20Is ahead of next year’s home T20 World Cup.
