The Kunnamangalam police on Saturday (April 25, 2026) arrested a 19-year-old engineering student accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a girl under the promise of marriage. VT Abhinav was arrested on a petition filed by a survivor. Police sources said the girl was sexually assaulted in a flat near Sarovaram Bio Park a few months ago and later taken to a house in Peringalam where the assault was repeated. They added that she later became pregnant.
