The Ministry of Aviation said on Saturday that the latest news pilot Air India, which crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday, was “Mayday” and added that the flight climbed 650 feet in the air before it began to descend.
In an interview with reporters at a press conference in Delhi, the secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Samir Kumar Sinha informed that a recorder was found with a crashed aircraft.
“On June 12, around 14:00, we received information that the aircraft passed from Ahmedabad to Gatwick London crashed. We immediately got detailed information through ATC Ahmedabad,” Sinha said when the reporter informed.
During the press briefing, the Minister of Civil Aviation of the Union Ram Mohan Naidu was also present.
“It was AIC 171 and there were a total of 242 people on board, including 230 passengers, 2 pilots and 10 crew members,” the Minister of Aviation said.
A total of 270 people were killed in the Ahmedabad Air India crash. The incident is investigated by several agencies.
