World Cup hero Harmanpreet Kaur receives Padma Shri, stuns in ethnic look: Video
President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma Shri to Harmanpreet Kaur at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. The honor recognizes her contribution to Indian cricket ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup.

Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur received the Padma Shri at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi from President Droupadi Murma on Monday, May 25. The honor recognizes her outstanding contribution to Indian cricket following the Women in Blue’s World Cup triumph on home soil last November.
The President conferred 2 Padma Vibhushan, 6 Padma Bhushan and 58 Padma Shri at the first Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. A total of 131 Padma awards have been approved for 2026, including 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri awards, with the remaining recipients to be awarded in the second phase.
Harmanpreet attended the ceremony in a cream colored ethnic wear while receiving the prestigious award. She was awarded the Padma Shri in early January, marking another milestone in her distinguished career. Among other Indian awardees, Rohit Sharma was also awarded the Padma Shri but was not present at the venue.
