The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Thursday that the state government will deal with a long-standing demand for employment at other relatives of those who died due to lack of oxygen in the Chamarajanagar district hospital during the Covid-19 pandemia. The resolution is expected to be adopted at the upcoming cabinet meeting.
In May 2021, 24 patients with COVID-19 lost their lives due to a serious lack of medical oxygen in Chamarajanagar. After the tragedy, the jobs were promised to the families of the victims, which remains largely unfulfilled.
Mediaperons solution after a special meeting of the State Cabinet held in Mahadeshwara Hills, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah acknowledged the delay and said that “some legal issues came in the way” of the promise. He promised that these obstacles would be resolved and a permanent solution would be completed at the next cabinet meeting.
The Deputy Minister of DK Shivakumar said that while some family members were offered a job on the basis of outsourcing, not all of them were accommodated. He said they would also discuss the Minister of Medical Education. He suggested that jobs could be potentially created at the Government Faculty of Medicine Chamarajanagar.
