Women’s Promo run attracts a large number of girls, women

It was an unforgettable morning for the people of Vijayapur. A large number of girls and women participated in the Women’s Promo Run along a route that led in front of historical monuments such as Gol Gumbaz. They wore ethnic and traditional dresses. Most of them ran in saris.
It was organized in preparation for the Vrikshathon Heritage Run scheduled on December 13.

Ranjitha KR, a professor, and Savita Kallur, a dentist, flagged off the event in front of the Gagan Mahal. The participants ran to Gol Gumbaz and reached Gagan Mahal.
They raised slogans like “If he runs, the path will widen” and “The step he takes is a message of environmental protection” etc. Students from various colleges and universities, staff and others participated and distributed energy drinks and sweets as volunteers.

BK Saroja of Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishvavidyalaya took the vow of freedom from addiction and conducted a short meditation session. Many Brahmakumaris and elderly women also ran.
Dr. Kallur said it was a great initiative to involve women in such activities.
“I am very happy to see women enthusiastically participating in such large numbers. Everyone should register now to participate in the Vrikshathon Heritage Run Marathon on December 13,” she said.
She promised to participate in the heritage run. Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbaragi’s father Basavaraj Nimbaragi and mother Gurubai also attended.

Renuka Prasad, a yoga expert and marathon runner, trained most of the participants. “There are still three months left for the Vrikshathon Heritage Run and during this period I will be training the participants on projects that will enable them to run more kilometers. I request you all to run with confidence,” he said.
Savitri Davleshwar entertained them with Zumba dance. Booths were set up to sign up for the heritage run on December 13 and a 10% discount was given to those who signed up. Women clicked pictures at the selfie stands and posted them on the Vrikshathon social media platforms. They were asked to participate in a house and garden competition held as part of a vrikshathon.
Sangeeta Mathapati and Subhashchandra Kannur anchored the event.
Vrikshathon core committee members Gurushantha Kapase, Chandrakanth Shetty, Ashpak Managuli, Shivanagowda Patil, Santosh Aurasang, Veerendra Guchatti, Raju Yalagond, Praveen, Promotion Manager Shivu Kumbar, Amit Biradar, Ramesh Biradar and Koti Vriksha Coordinator Abhigeshyan were present.
