2024 Runner-up Jasmine Paolini faced an early east of Wimbledon 2025 after losing in three sets to the world 62 Kamilla Rakhimov. The fourth deployed Paolini looked under the first set, but Rakhimova made an amazing comeback to win the match 6-4, 4-6, 4-6 in two hours and 19 minutes.
Paolini, which conquered 4-5, 0-40, showed the nerves of steel to save three match points, but could not save the fourth when Rakimova advanced to her first round in a grassy court. Paolini’s departure means that Aryna Sabalenka is the only player who remains among the top five seeds in a female draw.
Carlos Alcaraz showed a dominant show in his second round against Oliver Tarvet and won the match 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 in the Central Court. The five-time Grand Slam champion will continue to face the winner of the match between Felix Auger Ager Aliassime and Jan-Lennard Strufs.
Wimbledon 2025 Day 3 Updates
In the last match of the day at Court Center, 2021 US Open Champion Emma Raducan, a strong performance was presented to eliminate Market Vondrousova from women’s singles. Raducan took an hour and 22 minutes to beat Wimbledon Champion 6-3, 6-3.
Raducan has a huge task in his hand when in the second round he is facing World No. 1 Sabalenko, who defeated Marie Bouzek in direct sets in the second round. She lost Raducan at her only meeting with Sabalenko in Indian Wells last year.
“I think there is no pressure on me in the next round,” Raducan said about her upcoming match with Sabalenko.
In other matches, Katerina Siniakova, who excluded Qinwen Zheng in the first round, lost with the four-time Grand Slam Naomi Osaka champion, who won the match 6-3, 6-2.
30. The seed of Linda Nokokova defeated Germay’s Eva Lys, won 6-2, 2-6, 6-3. Nokova will face Rakhimov, who will be confident after Paolini’s injury.
