The plane landed in the early morning calm at Ezeiza International Airport. A charter flight from the United States brought back a large portion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup runner-up Argentina squad, along with coaching staff and team officials.

There was no trophy on board and no victory parade led by Lionel Messi, who traveled separately to start his break. However, when the cabin doors opened and the delegation stepped onto Argentine soil, all expectations of a quiet arrival were dashed. Thousands of supporters turned the perimeter of the airport into a sea of light, sound and affection.
