
A social media influencer known online as ‘The Skin Doctor’ has been arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly making inappropriate social media posts targeting the family of late businessman Sunjay Kapur.
According to police sources, the accused has been identified as Dr Neelam Singh, a dermatologist and social media commentator who runs several accounts under the name ‘The Skin Doctor’.
According to PTI, a complaint has been lodged at the Vasant Kunj police station in Delhi on behalf of the Kapoor family regarding these places. Following a complaint, the police initiated legal action and arrested the influencer.
Police sources said the accused was being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation before being taken into custody. Further investigation is underway in the matter.
Who is ‘The Skin Doctor’?
Dr. Neelam Singh is a dermatologist who has built a significant online presence under the moniker “The Skin Doctor”. Although initially known for skin care and dermatology content, it has also become widely recognized for its commentary on social and political issues.

The bio on the influencer’s Instagram profile describes “The Skin Doctor” as a “Socio-politically aware dermatologist,” while the YouTube channel carries the description: “A dermatologist talking about social issues.”
Strong presence across social media platforms
In addition to discussing health and skin care, Dr. Neelam Singh often comments online on political developments and current affairs.
At the time of writing, the influencer has more than 9 million followers on X, more than 1 million followers on Instagram and nearly 1.3 million subscribers on YouTube.
According to X’s profile, the account is followed by several prominent figures, including politicians, journalists, entrepreneurs and other influencers.
Why was Dr. Neelam Singh Arrested?
Dr. Neelam Singh was arrested for alleged inappropriate posts related to the family of late businessman Sunjay Kapur.
According to reports, the influencer’s now-deleted social media post allegedly questioned the circumstances of Kapoor’s death and also raised concerns about his will.
Police have not publicly released further details about the specific content under investigation.

Bail granted hours after arrest
Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani later posted on X that Dr. Neelam Singh was released on bail almost five hours after his arrest.
In a post on social media, he described the case as “baseless and frivolous”.
Sunjay Kapur Death and Family Feud
Sunjay Kapur, chairman of auto components company Sona Comstar, died in London on June 12, 2025.
Although his death was officially ruled natural, controversy ensued after his mother reportedly requested a criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. She claimed there were “unexplained circumstances” involved in the incident and also raised concerns related to family business and inheritance matters.

The controversy later spilled over into a reported inheritance dispute involving members of the Kapoor family.
Reports also said that actor Karisma Kapoor’s children have sought their “rightful share” in their late father’s estate and moved the Delhi High Court against their stepmother Priya Sachdev.
Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor were married in 2003 before they separated and finalized their divorce in 2016. Sunjay Kapur later married Priya Sachdev.
