Bobby Mukamala was born two doctors who were immigrants in the United States. To serve the community that welcomed them was his inspiration to become a doctor.
Bobby Mukamala graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Michigan and completed the residence in Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. His wife Nita Kulkarni, MD, is an obstetrician-gynecology.
“Together they founded scholarships of talented medical professions at the University of Michigan, Flint in 2012. They have two adults, Nikhil, Biomedical engineer, and Deven, a doctorate for political science,” Ama said.
Bobby Mukamala also chairs the working group for the use of AMA pain and pain. “He also played a central role in response to the Flint Water crisis, serving as chairman of the Greater Flint community foundation focusing on financing projects to alleviate lead effects in children. As an otolaryngologist, he sees patients in all stages of life and all stages of health – from newborns to senior citizens.”
The Indian original doctor was also the previous recipient of the “Excellence in Medicine” AMA Foundation.
In 2009, Mukkamala was elected to the AMA council for science and public health. In 2017 and 2021 he was elected to the AMA Board. Since 2011, he has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Michigan State Medical Society, as Chairman of the Board of Directors for two years and as his president.
He is also the previous President of Genesee County Medical Society (GCMS) and continues to serve on the GCMS board.
