West Indies 23/1 in 14.1 Overs | West Indies vs Pakistan Live Score 1st Test Day 1: West Indies opt to bat against Pakistan

West Indies vs Pakistan Live Score, 1st Test Day 1: West Indies captain Roston Chase won the toss and elected to bat in the opening Test against Pakistan at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Saturday, with both teams looking to climb from the bottom of the World Test Championship standings.

The visitors enter the two-match series with renewed confidence after securing a 1-0 win over Sri Lanka, their first win in the current WTC cycle. Meanwhile, Pakistan have struggled in recent months, losing three consecutive Tests after opening their campaign with a win over South Africa.

Babar Azam returns as captain after replacing Shan Masood, whose side have lost 12 of their 16 Tests in charge. Babar also enjoyed an encouraging surge, scoring a century against West Indies Select XI, while opener Azan Awais hit a hundred and returning pacer Mohammad Ali claimed five wickets.

Pakistan were forced into changes after Abdullah Fazal was ruled out of the tournament with a lower back injury. Imam-ul-Haq returns to partner Awais at the top while slow left-arm spinner Ali Usman makes his Test debut ahead of the experienced Sajid Khan.

West Indies named a pace attack featuring Kemar Roach, Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales, with Jomel Warrican as the lone spin specialist after Alzarri Joseph retired from the series.

The match is also the first ever Test hosted at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, the 13th Test venue in the Caribbean.
