JNTU Anantapur celebrates 80 years with the release of a commemorative stamp

JNTU Anantapur College of Engineering (JNTUACEA) celebrated 80 years of service on Saturday by releasing a commemorative postage stamp at the NTR Auditorium on the campus.

Former Chairman DRDO and alumnus of the college G. Satheesh Reddy and Vice-Chancellor H. Sudarsana Rao inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and unveiling a postage stamp dedicated to JNTUACEA.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Satheesh Reddy said that the release of the postage stamp was made possible due to the voluntary and generous contributions of the alumni of the college and various stakeholders. The college has played a key role in enabling many individuals to achieve prestigious positions, he said and reaffirmed his commitment to extend continuous support and contribution to the future development of JNTU Anantapur. He stated that they will provide support in particular to research projects and the organization of conferences.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his happiness at being a part of the memorable event in a dual capacity – as an alumnus and as the University Vice-Chancellor. Alumni have always supported the development of the college, he said adding that Mr. Satheesh Reddy is contributing to the growth of the university as well as the college.

Registrar S. Krishnaiah said that the alumni association is a source of strength for the college and that the university appreciates the advice and suggestions of the alumni for its development.
