The World Champion in chess D Gukesh could not hold the laughter while responding to the viral memes of his victory over former world champion Magnus Carlsen in the Norwegian chess.
In an interview shared Chessbase India, Gukesh chose some of his favorite memes and was seen uncontrolled with laughing on the Internet Carlsen’s dramatic reaction – Which has now become a trendy moment online.

D Gukesh’s breakthrough classic victory over 1st Magnus Carlsen was one of the defining moments of the Norwegian chess 2025. Peace under pressure, eighteen -year -old released a clinical performance that shook the chess world and announced his arrival on the largest scene.
But Carlsen, always a competitor, wasn’t done. Despite the loss, he organized a dramatic return in the final round, where a tight draw against Arjun Erigaisi showed up only enough to stay before Gukesh and Fabiano Caruana. With that, Norwegian seized his seventh Norwegian chess title – the triumph secured the smallest edges and celebrated again in front of his home crowd.
Carlsen entered the final round with a narrow half lead over Gukesh, but the advantage seemed in danger when Erigaisi was pushing him on the border. The young Indian played fearlessly, used weaknesses and forced Carlsen to a defensive battle that lasted 34 nerve movements. For a moment it seemed that the title could slip – but the draw held, just like Carlsen’s crown.
