Newly appointed District Superintendent of Police (Ernakulam Rural) KS Sudarshan said on Wednesday (January 28, 2026) that he would try to establish a cordial relationship between the police and the public. He added that steps would be taken to resolve the complaints received at the police stations within a time limit.
In a statement issued after taking charge from M. Hemalath, who has been transferred as District Superintendent of Police (Kollam City), Mr. Sudarshan said his priorities include taking strict action against those involved in drug peddling and illegal money-lending, two major law and order problems that are often reported from the rural borders.
Mr. Sudarshan was serving as District Superintendent of Police (Thiruvananthapuram Rural) before being transferred to his new role. He was earlier Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kochi City.
