
All India Radio (AIR) Vijayawada has organized a special literary program to highlight traditional Telugu literary skills and cultural heritage as part of the Ugadha celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Station Director and DDG M. Someswara Rao said that All India Radio has always played a key role in bringing cultural programs closer to the public. The event was held on the occasion of the Ugadi festival.
The highlight of the program was the performance of the well-known scholar Bulusu Aparna, who demonstrated her exceptional ability to compose poetry on the fly while responding to various challenges.
The session was chaired by Kadimella Varaprasad and several scholars participated in presenting different types of literary challenges. They included Palaparthi Shyamalnanda Prasad, Paidipati Umanatha Sharma, Vadavali Krishna Kumari, Gudiseva Vishnu Prasad, Kappagantu Ramakrishna, Poosadapu Subba Rao, Pulupula Venkata Phani Kumar Sharma and Koganti Venkata Ranganayaki.
Ms. Aparna responded to each challenge with ease and creativity, making the program engaging from start to finish. The event was conducted under the supervision of Program Manager Chunduru Manikya Rao.
According to program head Gudipudi Divya, the 59-minute program will be telecast on Ugadi day (March 19) at 9.30 am from Vijayawada station and will be repeated at 10.30 am on FM Rainbow 102.2. Deputy Director P. Prashanth Kiran said that the program will also be telecast on different stations of All India Radio in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at different times.
