Vishnu Vardhan takes over as Director of Medical Education

Former Principal of Rangaraya Medical College A. Vishnu Vardhan took charge as Director of Medical Education (DME) at the DME office in Vijayawada on Friday.

Dr. Vishnu Vardhan has served as Principal and Additional DME (ADME) for the last one year. He completed his MBBS from Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada in 1987. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Anesthesia from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in 1994, after which he joined Rangaraya Medical College as an Assistant Professor. He had 29 years of experience in various capacities in the government sector.

After accepting the charge in the presence of his family members, Dr. Vishnu Vardhan said he would work to raise the standards of medical education in line with the targets set by the state government. He also said that he will ensure quality medical education, adequate infrastructure and efficient administration in government medical colleges and promote medical research.

He said he would strive to improve the quality of health services provided to people from economically weaker backgrounds.
