Several hundreds of the Maharshi Valmiki community set out on Yadgir streets on Wednesday and demanded legal steps against false caste certificates to those from communities outside Valmiki.
They pulled out a protest march on the main streets and urged the state government to meet their long -waiting requirements, mainly to prevent false caste certificates on behalf of the Valmiki community that are not Valmiki.
The community manager said that the authorities of income issued false caste certificates to non-rating communities. The state government should take legal action against the authorities according to the direction issued by the Karnatak High Court for issuing such certificates.
Demonstrators demanded that the scholarships were immediately distributed to the Valmiki Community students. They said that a tribal university should be set up to allow tribal students to study and conduct research.
They said many of the community were subjected to atrocities and other crime. The government should protect such people. Officers should take legal steps to divert funds intended for planned tribes to other activities.
They said that Madhugiri MLA KN Rajanna, which belongs to the Valmiki community, should be included in the cabinet because it was recently released without a specific reason.
