Red Outfit Emmy Raducan was unable to work on Friday when she bowed from the US Open 2025. In her clash of the third round at Flushing Meadows, Raducan was defeated by Kazakhstan Elena Rybakina. Until then, Raducan enjoyed the perfect record in red in the tournament and won nine direct matches without dropping the set. It was also in red that she remembered the title of 2021 US Open at the Arthur Ashe stadium.
This time Rybakina had complete control. 2022 Wimbledon Champion dominated from start to finish and handed Raducan defeat 6-1, 6-2 in just an hour and two minutes at the Louis Armstrong stadium. The victory also meant Rybakina’s first advance to the fourth round of the US Open.
US Open 2025 Day 6 Updates
Rybakina was now in all four large slams in the fourth round. Despite the comfortable score, Rybakina admitted that Raducan was working.
“Yeah, it’s true. Over the years, for some reason, the US Open was not really successful for me. Hopefully this year will be different. I’m really glad to get, and I’ll try to go as far as possible. Thank you for your support,” Raducan told her court interview.
“I am really happy with my performance. It is never easy to play Emma – sometimes it doesn’t reflect the score, but it’s a hard competitor. I’m pleased by how I played today, and I’m looking forward to the next match,” Rybakina added.
Ryabkina Hammers Raducan
The first set lasted only 26 minutes when Rybakina raced forward with a double break and never looked back. Raducan tried to face the pace and accuracy of her opponent and offered little resistance.
In the second set Rybakina again secured a premature break and maintained her own benefit. It served for 5-2, 40-15, scored two points of the match and sealed the victory at the first when Rapucanu Forehand had long carried.
Rybakina will also face the winners of the clash between Marketa Vondrous and Jasmine Paolini.
