Iran US War News LIVE: The United States carried out multiple strikes in at least three areas of Iran after its Apache helicopter was reportedly shot down in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, June 9. After a series of explosions, Iranian media now reports that the situation in the southern part of the country is now calm. In justifying the strikes on Iran, US Central Command said the strikes were a “proportionate response to Iran’s unwarranted aggression”.
Trump previously said in a post on Truth Social that it was Iran that shot down the Apache helicopter and the US must “respond to the attack.”
The latest attack on Iranian territory, following a series of Israeli strikes, not only violates the ceasefire, but also disrupts ongoing negotiations for a peace deal between the US and Iran to end the war in West Asia.
