
National Service Scheme (NSS), JNTUA College of Engineering, in coordination with Department of Science and Technology (DST) – Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and MYBharat of Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organized an awareness program on Union and State Government schemes for marginalized and disadvantaged communities at Ramnepalli in Raptadu mandal of Anantapur district.
The objective of the program was to connect rural farmers with various government welfare programs and provide them with information that can improve their livelihoods, thereby contributing to the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
The program was attended by JNTUA NSS Coordinator G. Mamatha, MYBharat Representative and National Youth Awardee Bisathi Bharath, Financial Literacy Officers from Canara Bank, Bramarambha, JNTUA Deputy Director Dileep and others.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Bisathi Bharath highlighted several initiatives introduced by the Union and State Governments for farmers, including Kisan Credit Card, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Kisan e-Mitra App, e-NAM, PM Krishi Yojanasayee, CPM More Carda, CPM. Kisan Maandhan Yojana, Prime Kisan Samman Nidhi, myScheme Portal and NaMo Drone Didi Scheme.
He emphasized that empowering farmers and increasing their income are key factors in realizing the Viksit Bharat vision by 2047.
Mrs. Bramarambha explained various financial security and welfare schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and encouraged the villagers to avail these beneficial schemes.
NSS volunteers played a key role in organizing the programme, coordinating with villagers and farmers to ensure active participation and awareness.
