The Kozhikode district committee of the United Democratic Front (UDF) will stage a protest at the Pantheerankavu toll plaza on the Vengalam-Ramanattukara stretch of NH-66 on Thursday morning when toll collection is scheduled to begin.
K. Praveenkumar, president of the district Congress committee, and MA Razaq, district president of the Indian Union Muslim League, on Wednesday said they would not allow toll collection until work on the service roads was completed. They also demanded that residents of Vengalam and Azhiyur be exempted from paying toll.
