Two people were in critical condition Wednesday after a shooting at a Kroger supermarket outside Houston, Texas. According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened in the area of ​​Cypresswood Drive in Cypress around 2:50 p.m.
Captain Juan Flores of the Harris County Police Precinct 4 told reporters that numerous officers and emergency responders were on the scene after the shooting.
Authorities have not released details of the injured, including their identities. While one of the injured walked out of the store and was taken to the hospital, the other person was found inside with multiple gunshot wounds, ABC News reported, citing Captain Flores.
Flores also said investigators are looking into reports that one of the victims was the shooter.
According to Fox News, eyewitnesses reported seeing a black man wearing a yellow shirt and black pants firing a gun inside the store.
Fox News correspondent Brooke Taylor told X that the shooting was the result of a domestic situation and that the victim and the shooter knew each other.
“It was a domestic situation. The shooter showed up at a busy Kroger where the victim was working and shot her. The victim is in ‘serious condition.’ The shooter was also shot. Police are still trying to confirm if the shooter was shot or if he shot himself,” Taylor said on X.
After the shooting, Kroger released a statement saying, “Out of respect for the ongoing police investigation, we are unable to release information at this time. Thank you for your understanding.”
