Two Bengaluru students have been selected as finalists of India’s Young Innovators Samsung Solve 2026 program
Bhavya Chawat and Kruthi Krishna, two students from RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru, are selected among the top 20 teams for Samsung India’s Young Innovators final at Samsung Solve 2026.
Their Step Sense project helps detect medical conditions including diabetic foot ulcers and plantar fasciitis using the walking pattern of people.
Kruthi said: “Early detection of this disease can prevent amputation of the patient’s leg. We built this project using AI technology. Sensors installed in the sole of the shoes can help us monitor parameters such as fatigue monitoring, fall risk assessment and changes in walking pattern over time. If they change, patients can receive the necessary treatment at the right time.”
