Two Bombai men were arrested on Thursday near the NamPally station in connection with the theft in the jewelry store in Basheerbaggh. The Saifabad police received 173 pieces of gold and diamond jewelry, weighing about 850 grams and from their possession worth approximately 1.5 crore.
The accused were identified as Chadawa Ronak, 24 years, marketing Executive Director with Shanaya Diamond Jewel PVT. Ltd. and Mohd Hasnain Habiya, 22, student. “Both are said to be in financial need after they have suffered severe losses in planting IPL. Investigators said that Ronak hatched this plan after joining Shanaya Diamonds in April and asked Hasnain for help in carrying out theft,” DCP said K. Shilpavalli.
Theft took place 5th September in Vijay Shankar Lal Jewelers, with a complaint filed two days later. After credible potential customers, they watched Saifabad Police and CCS Hyderabad and caught a duo that later confessed to a crime.
