C. Joseph Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) win didn’t just benefit the actor’s two-year-old party. Likewise, it favored the AIADMK to make deep inroads into northern Tamil Nadu, considered a DMK stronghold covering Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur and Tiruvannamalai districts.
These districts, which were once part of the erstwhile North Arcot region, have a total of 21 assembly constituencies.
