In the last days of his term of office, the head official in the justice department of President Donald Trump initiated an investigation by former President Joe Biden, focusing on whether Biden was mentally competent, and if others could use it using instruments such as Autopen.
In the internal e -mail acquired by Reuters Ed Martin, the lawyer of the Ministry of Justice, he revealed that the probe would explore “whether (biden) was competent and whether others used it using a car or other means.”
The Autopen, a device that replicates the signatures, was a point of dispute between Biden’s critics who claim that it may indicate that he has not personally allowed activities.
Objective: Family grace, commuting from death
The investigative centers focus on the preventive forgiveness of Biden issued to five family members – including James Biden’s siblings, Frank Biden and Valerie Biden Owens together with their husbands – and loved 37 federal prisoners from the death penalty.
Biden prevented family graces and said they were to “protect them from future politically motivated investigation”.
Hunter Biden, the president’s son, who confessed to tax violations and was convicted of charging the charges of firearms, was also released 1 December.
In the last hours of his Presidency, Joe Biden issued a preventive forgiveness of several key personalities, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Marek Milley retired and members of the House Committee, who investigated the attack of Capitol 6 January.
Leaving is coming when Biden tries to protect these individuals from the potential “revenge” of the action coming by Trump’s administration, who expressed his intentions to focus on the people involved in the investigation of former President Donald Trump.
Autopen Resurfaces
Trump and its allies have long questioned the validity of documents signed through a car, a mechanical device used to replicate signatures and claimed that it challenges Biden’s consciousness of presidential events. However, it is not clear whether Biden used an autpen for grace commands.
The 2005 Ministry Memo has determined that the use of the autodel for the presidential signatures was legitimate when it was permitted by the president.
Martin’s statement
Martin, who previously worked as a temporary American lawyer in Washington, was nominated for a permanent role, although the nomination was later stopped in the Senate. Despite believing in a wide range of presidential power for Power, Martin indicated the need for further control.
“If you use an autopen to waive power, I don’t think it’s necessarily a problem,” Martin said at a press conference on May 13.
Political undertones and health issues
Critics claim that the probe appears to be politically motivated to support continuous concerns about Biden’s age and cognitive abilities. These concerns intensified after Biden’s performance from race 2024 after a bad debate and a recent diagnosis of cancer.

No comment to the pass or white house so far
Neither the Ministry of Justice nor the White House responded to requests for commentary on the investigation, Reuters said. E -mail from Martin did not specify who ordered him to start the probe.
Despite the investigation, no evidence was submitted to indicate that Biden did not intend to issue pardons, and the legal precedent supports the validity of the use of the Pitters within the Presidential Directive.
