US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (May 12) released a series of mock-ups created by artificial intelligence with a redesigned $100 “federal victory bill” featuring his own portrait and the phrase “God Bless Donald Trump”.
The images show a stylized bill that appears to be a reimagining of the US dollar, with Trump’s face prominently displayed on one side.
Statement of the State Treasury on the monetary plan
On March 26, the U.S. Treasury Department announced plans for the 250th anniversary of the United States, with Trump’s signature appearing on future U.S. paper currency alongside the Secretary of the Treasury.
Finance Minister Scott Bessent framed the move as part of a wider national milestone.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, we are on a path to unprecedented economic growth, continued dominance of the dollar, and fiscal strength and stability,” Bessent said.
He added, “There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than with U.S. dollar bills bearing his name.”
U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach also defended the proposal, saying, “As we approach the 250th anniversary of our great nation, America’s currency will continue to serve as a symbol of the prosperity, strength, and unshakable spirit of the American people under the leadership of President Trump.”
Expanding use of the Trump brand
The currency model comes amid a broader pattern of branding associated with Trump across government and public institutions.
The administration has already proposed or implemented several symbolic changes, including commemorative designs and naming initiatives tied to Trump’s presidency and United States sesquicentennial celebrations.
Officials have previously unveiled designs for commemorative coins and passports that include Trump’s image along with historic national symbols.
Passport and coin designs are under review
The State Department recently unveiled a proposed design for the nation’s 250th anniversary commemorative passport featuring Trump’s likeness along with text from the Declaration of Independence.
A department official said the rollout would coincide with the U.S. sesquicentennial in July.
Separately, the U.S. Mint released draft commemorative coin designs, including a $1 coin featuring Trump’s face, as well as a proposed gold coin design approved by the Commission on Fine Arts.
Airport naming proposal
Trump reportedly sought to rename major US transportation landmarks after himself, including Washington DC’s Dulles International Airport and New York’s Penn Station.
There are Trump-themed banners on federal buildings
A number of large banners bearing Trump’s likeness and slogans have been installed on key federal buildings in Washington, DC, in recent months.
In February, a banner depicting Trump was displayed at the Justice Department building.
In August, the Labor Department displayed banners reading “American Workers First” along with pictures of Trump and former President Theodore Roosevelt, who is often associated with pushing for early labor reforms.
In June, the Department of Agriculture (USDA) displayed banners featuring Trump alongside former President Abraham Lincoln with the slogan “America’s Growth Since 1862”.
the TrumpRx platform
Trump has also launched or supported government-related initiatives bearing his name, including a prescription drug pricing platform called “TrumpRx.gov” that aims to help Americans gain access to discounted drugs.
Military and infrastructure designs
In December, Trump announced plans to build “Trump-class” battleships for the US Navy.
“As commander in chief, I am very honored to announce that I have approved a plan for the Navy to begin construction on two brand new, very large — the largest we’ve ever built — battleships,” Trump said.
The announcement was made during remarks at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
Kennedy Center and the renaming of the Institute of Peace
One of the most contentious events was the renaming of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, which was reportedly updated to include Trump’s name following a broader administrative shakeup of the institution.
The facility is now referred to in some contexts as the “Trump Kennedy Center,” a move that has sparked ongoing legal issues.
Separately, Trump’s name was also added to the headquarters of the United States Institute of Peace following administrative changes that included a restructuring of its board of trustees.
National Parks Pass
The Interior Department has announced that the 2026 “America the Beautiful” national parks passport will feature Trump’s image along with that of George Washington, replacing the traditional nature-themed designs.
The decision has already faced legal challenges challenging the use of political imagery in national park designations.
“Trump Accounts” brand.
Trump also signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill” into law, which created so-called “Trump Accounts” – investment savings accounts for children born between 2025 and 2029.
Under the program, the federal government puts $1,000 into each account. Accounts are scheduled to launch on July 4th.
The “gold card” immigration proposal.
Earlier this year, Trump also proposed a “gold card” immigration program that would allow foreign nationals to receive the benefits of U.S. residency in exchange for a $5 million payment.
“They’re going to be rich and they’re going to be successful and they’re going to spend a lot of money and pay a lot of taxes and employ a lot of people, and we think it’s going to be extremely successful,” Trump said as he unveiled the plan.
