Mohammad Rizwan endured a stifling time on Day 5 of the opening Test against Bangladesh when he was brutally trolled by Litton Das before going down in bizarre fashion. Chasing 268, Pakistan were struggling at 121 for five when Rizwan walked out to bat. Although he scored 59 in the first innings, the batsman failed to achieve a similar result at the wicket in the second.

Rizwan managed just 15 runs off 46 balls before Nahid Rana was dismissed. The drama started in the 38th over when Rizwan was still settling into the crease. Speaking from behind the stumps to Taijul Islam, Litton mocked Rizwan, saying the Pakistan batsman was only playing for survival and would avoid attacking cricket because of his bad reputation back home.

“Now they’re going to be playing for survival; there’s no pressure on them to win. And his reputation is already very bad in that country. If he tries to attack and gets out, he won’t be able to come home, his reputation is already very bad there,” Litton said on the stump mic.
ILitton to Taijul: “Rizwan’s reputation is really bad in Pakistan. If he gets out there and tries to hit a big shot, he won’t even be able to step back into the ground – his reputation is that bad!”

The trolling seemed to hit Rizwan, who got to Nahid a few overs later without offering a shot. Rana bowled a beauty to bowl Rizwana at 147 kmph. Rizwan stretched his arms across his shoulders, expecting the ball to hold its line, but it jerked back sharply and clipped the top of middle stump, leaving the Pakistan batsman stunned.
Rizwan entered the Test series after enduring a disappointing Pakistan Super League campaign where his Rawalpindi side failed to reach the play-offs after eight consecutive defeats.
BANGLADESH EDGE PAST PAKISTAN
With rain threatening to wash out the Test and Bangladesh leading by just 179 runs, the match looked set to be a draw. However, Bangladesh took an aggressive approach on day five, scoring 88 runs in 20 overs before declaring 240 for nine and setting Pakistan a target of 268. Najmul Hossain Shanto led from the front with a fluent 87.
Earlier, Bangladesh were posted 413 in the first innings before Mehidy Hasan secured a 27-run lead with five wickets. Pakistan’s chase never gained momentum as Taskin Ahmed struck early and Nahid Rana tore through the middle and lower order with raw pace.
Abdullah Fazal’s fighting 66 was not enough as Pakistan were bowled out by 104 runs, giving Bangladesh their first ever home Test win over Pakistan and a 1-0 series lead.
