US President Donald Trump is back with another Jesus Christ post, but this time it’s not God! This time Jesus embraces him in agreement.
It comes less than 48 hours after a widespread backlash from conservative Christian voices accused him of blasphemy over Trump’s controversial AI-generated image of him as a Jesus-like figure.

“God may be playing his trump card!”
The digitally rendered image featured Donald Trump and a figure traditionally depicted as Jesus Christ.
Jesus, depicted with long hair, a beard and wearing a white robe, has his arm around Trump’s shoulder. Both had their eyes closed, looking like they were in a moment of prayer or serious contemplation. A blurred American flag and a bright, ethereal light or glow can be seen behind their heads.
Originally shared by ‘Irish for Trump’ on X, the image was captioned: “Never been a very religious person… but doesn’t seem like when all these satanic, demonic, child-sacrificing monsters are exposed… that God might be playing his trump card!”
The US President quickly shared the screenshot on his Truth Social account and added another caption to perfectly connect his political rhetoric with spiritual overtones.
Taking aim at his political rivals amid rising regional tensions and domestic debates about the role of faith in leadership, Trump wrote: “The radical left freaks might not like this, but I think it’s pretty cool!!!

What was the controversy?
The now-deleted image showed a white-robed Trump holding a glowing orb while placing his hand on a man’s forehead as if performing healing, surrounded by patriotic symbols including the Statue of Liberty, eagles and fireworks.
The post, shared on Truth Social late Sunday, was removed Monday.
The image drew rare criticism from the religious right, a key base of Trump’s support, leading to a rare deletion.
“I asked him to take it down,” spokesman Mike Johnson said, adding that he reached out to Trump directly after seeing the post and told him he didn’t believe it was “received in the same way he intended. He agreed and took it down.”
Seeking to clarify the previous post, Trump told reporters, “I thought it was me as a doctor,” adding that “only fake news can come up with that.”
“Normally I don’t like to do this, but I didn’t want anyone to be confused. People were confused,” he said, explaining why he decided to delete the image.
The president’s increasing reliance on religious motives coincides with a widening rift between the White House and the Vatican.

Quarrel with Pope Leo XIV
The post comes amid Trump’s escalating feud with Pope Leo XIV, whom he previously criticized as “WEAK on crime and terrible on foreign policy.”
Leo, the first US-born pope, responded by saying he was “not afraid” of the Trump administration and would continue to speak. In a speech in Algiers, he also criticized “neo-colonial” powers for violating international law, without naming the United States.
