Following a case of alleged material irregularities in assets claimed by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, two more writ petitions of a similar nature were filed in the Madras High Court to probe the assets declared by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader C. Joseph Vijay and former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Tamilirajsai.
While V. Vignesh, a voter from the Perambur Assembly constituency filed a case against Mr. Vijay; the case against Ms. Soundararajan was filed by Goutham Siva, a voter from Mylapore constituency. However, both the writ petitions were yet to be numbered by the High Court Registry, though they insisted on declaring the actual assets of both the candidates before the April 23 polls.
