
Three Indian doctors Dr. Abhay and Dr. Rani Bang together with Dr. Naveen Thacker was awarded the Gates Foundation Award for their work in community health care, which later inspired the ASHA program.
The couple (Dr. Abhay and Dr. Rani Bang) founded the search (Society for Education, Action and Research in Community Health), the organization of public health based in Zodhgram, Gadchiroli. The initiative focused on the impact of community involvement and simple, cheap interventions on creating a lasting impact on health.
The search was first founded in Gadchiroli, which they identified as a district that required the greatest support. Their work is also praised in designing the hospital Ma DanEShwari to resemble a tribal village with cottages, temple and “Ghotul” waiting space, so that people belonging to the tribal community feel welcome.
Their efforts to cooperate reduced malaria by 60% through bedrooms, spraying and drugs.
A study on rural women has revealed that 92% had untreated gynecological problems, which caused a shift in global women’s health politicians to the 1994 Cairo. In India, this model has been admitted as an accredited social health activist (ASHA) since 2005.
Together with them, Dr. Naveen Thacker honor for his work in Peedeatrics. After the Gujarat earthquake is known for his work in the field of eradication and the reconstruction of hospitals in 2001.
